I've played with the colour combinations and this weekend decided to try embossing the peacock's tail feathers. I hope the photos do it justice.
I've used Whisper White cardstock as the base. I then topped it with Gold Foil cardstock.
I used the Hexagons embossing folder (this is retired but still a goody) as the background for the peacock stamped in Old Olive.
Once the peacock was dry I dusted with the Embossing Buddy, this makes sure your embossing powder goes where you want it. I stamped the feathers in Versamark and then covered the peacock in a layer of Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and heated with my Heat Tool.
I watched as the magic happened. This always excites me as the embossing powder takes on a new life. I then die cut the peacock. I also stamped Happy Birthday, from the Sending You Thoughts Stamp Set, and embossed as well. Stitched So Sweetly Dies were used to die cut the sentiment.
Now to assemble the whole card. I wrapped the embossed cardstock in Old Olive/Pretty Peacock ribbon and tied a knot. After layering I used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment and peacock to the card. I added three Pretty Peacock rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones to the sentiment.
It was fun experimenting with colours, ribbon and textures until I finally found a combination I was happy with.
