Don't you love it when someone asks you to make them a special card!
I was asked to make a card for a friend who wanted to say something special to her daughter-in-law. It had to be in shades of purple.
I had made a similar card - So Saffron and Melon Mambo Bouquet (see below), so it was easy to just change colours.
I knew exactly what I would use. Gorgeous Grape, Purple Posy and Highland Heather.
The Tricolour Ribbon was a perfect fit.
I admit that I used some blends (non-Stampin' Up! ®)to make the some of the flowers. Others were cut from Highland Heather cardstock and I used Old Olive Blends for the leaves.
Tea Together © Stamp Set and matching Tea Time© Dies, were perfect for the flowers and leaves.
I used Purple Posy for the card base.
I layered that with Whisper White cardstock.
Using Swirly Birds© Stamp Set(retired), I stamped the background.
I wrapped the lower half in the ribbon.
I attached a Pearlized Doily and then layered the flowers using dimensionals. I specially wanted the doily to show, so I placed the flowers as if they are climbing up and across a trellis.
The sentiment came from Royal Peacock© Stamp Set.
This was attached to a background of Gorgeous Grape cut from Stitched So Sweetly© dies.
Lastly I added some bling - Gorgeous Grape Rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestone pack.
My friend was thoroughly thrilled with the final product.
I was too, but then it is so easy when Stampin' Up!® has so many colour co-ordinated products.
